Was wohl realistischer ist.
Ist ja kein schlechterSynth per se , lediglich die Bedienung ist ein Graus.

Wie kann man eigentlich feststellen welche Firmware/OS Version der XA hat
Im Systemmenü habe ich nix gefunden und beim Starten wird auch nix angezeigt.

weil ich es grade auf gearslutz nochmal gelesen habe:


"System > Sound > Output Gain (if I'm not mistaken)

It's a parameter that let's you adjust the overall output gain of the XA by up to +12 dB, it's what people have been using."

"It is definitely a good idea to make use of the balanced outputs of the JD-XA and not use unbalanced cables with it. Even though I was using pseudo-balanced cables that have 120 ohm with 100 nF cap in series with the GND at the receiving plug end to cut possible ground loop current path, I got very weak signal level from the JD-XA + very obvious noise and ground hum, the latter which was supposed to be taken care by the cable design. However, I built a standard TRS to TRS cable with GND connected at both ends and wired the JD-XA to my mixer again and the problem is gone. The S/N is much higher and the hum is gone. Also, it is a good idea to keep the GND at the synth end, because the JD-XA uses an external switching PSU that does not connect the GND of the synth anywhere. Also, the JD-XA internal structure has very little shielding if any, so it is a good idea to connect the JD-XA GND to the mixer GND via the TRS cable. In addition, the +12 dB gain in the menu is useful. With that enabled, the output level is similar to my other synths. Maybe Roland wanted the synth to be compatible with most guitar pedals and use such a low standard output level? However, it does not make sense because the outputs are with balanced TRS.

In any case, use balanced cables with the JD-XA (with GND connected at both ends)! It reduces hum, noise and also some digital artefacts otherwise present in the JD-XA sound. "

Mal ne Frage zum Editor:

Wenn ich zB die Speicherplätze mit Patches wie folgt belegt habe:

1,2,4.. will ich behalten, 3 will ich aber "löschen".

Kann ich dann zB mit dem Editor einen anderen Patch auf den Platz 3 "verschieben", sodass "hinten" dann wieder einer frei wird?

Die Roland'sche Editorerklärung per Video OHNE Ton ist eine Unverschämtheit.

OS 1.50 ist da, noch kein 2.0 mit den erhofften Sequencer updates usw, aber immerhin

dazu neue Presets (vor "Schrägerem" schrecken sie ja noch immer zurück
und ... einem optischen update !

Wo sind den die Presets dann ,wenn man das geupdatet hat ?Im Digitalpart oder bei den Programms? ....nicht dasses mir was überschreibt....Gruss aus dem beschaulichen Finnland.

Bei mir ist nach dem Update auf 1.50 Programmtechnisch als noch beim alten!
"Finde" keine neuen Presets - egal

Ich glaube bei dem Digitalen part sind paar sachen dazugekommen das Klavier preset hat glaub ne höhere nummer, Ich bin mir aber nicht sicher ....

Im Musikerboard wird berichtet, dass der jd-xa jetzt mit neuem overlay ausgeliefert wird. Weiß jemand was darüber?

es ist ein neues Overlay kurz vor VÖ, das ist soweit ich weiß korrekt

Zuständig für das neue, kontrastreichere Overlay ist übrigens die Firma "Synth Graphics" - So sieht die neue JDXA-Benutzeroberfläche im rot-weissen Look dann aus:

Im neuen OS 1.50 Video sieht man es. Laut Roland Support wird es wohl gratis für Neukunden und auch für bestehende Kunden sein. Ist aber noch nicht 100% fix weil nicht offiziell.

Da war ich doch heute im Musicstore, weil ich mich seit ein paar Videos und Sequencer.de und Gearslutz auf den zweiten Blick in den JD-XA verguckt habe.
Sollte eine ordentliche Unterstützung zum Pro 2, Prophet 6 und Rytm sein. OK, auch zum JD-Xi.
Aber... Ich kam mit dem Ding so gar nicht klar. Ich habe schon rausgekriegt, wie das mit den Bänken geht und dass bei einigen ein paar Beispiele dabei sind. Aber nicht, wie ich was auswähle, damit ich mit Instrument 1 spiele, während 2, 3, 4 und Analog spielt.

Habt Ihr Empfehlungen für ein paar Videos, wo das mal alles grundlegend erklärt wird?
Also... Was alles gleichzeitig geht. Und vor allem: Wie.

Dann wäre es nämlich ne coole Kiste, sowohl zum Spaß haben (irgendwelche Dudelloops inklusive Rytmusgedöns laufen lassen, die auch noch schick sind und drüber spielen und nur für sich gute Laune kriegen) als auch zum ernsthaften Arbeiten...
