Ich habe noch ein Bild des EEF Sequencers hier: G D2 hatte mir da noch einiges erzählt - zu.

ein bisschen MS-Look - aber größer - ist auch eine Entwicklung der Leute von denen ich sprach.
As mentioned on the MS blog, ELK Muziek - based in Antwerp - was founded by Eric Feremans in the late seventies. It was a non-profit organisation where synthesis classes were organised, as well as DIY synth building, and in a later stage also computer music projects.
Members were a strange mix of hardcore DIYers, musicians, engineers and artists. Not too many people, but quite the bunch of addicts...
One of its core "members/teachers" was Wim Verheyen (a very young but brilliant engineering student at that time), who designed most of the stuff that Eric didn't want to do, or put better: wasn't able to do. Since ELK Muziek was a non-profit organisation with funding from the governement, it was obliged to attract students (as teachers and/or developers) in a kind of "stage" (Flemish word, I think it's the same in German - meaning "a practical course for students in the real world, just before they get their diplomas"). That meant that they got paid very little, and had to report to their tutor, which in this case was Eric Feremans, who then had to report to the student's school about their "evolution"... As you can imagine, this didn't go very well all the time, especially since Eric and Wim differed a lot about technological aspects of sound and modular design. Eric abused Wim too much (he called him his "little workhorse" or "professor Spock" or something), and used him for everything and the kitchen sink, much to the aggravation of Wim (and us)... Eric was that kind of person whom had maybe one brilliant idea, then let others do the actual work, and then - in public - claimed the prize for his own. No wonder not too many people didn't/don't like him...
Wim became one of my best friends since then, and after a huge fallout with ELK Muziek, Wim and me designed our own modular - the Aemit 01 - of which only one was made (but far superior to anything coming out of ELK Muziek).
Vielleicht ganz interessant, es geht auch noch weiter…
aber klare Ansage: The sequencer has been used (at least) by EEF himself, Andre Stordeur, Walter Christian Rothe, and apparently also by Marc Verhaegen of the Klinik...
Hier kann man gut sehen, wie der Seq funktioniert mit diesen Gate-Matrix Schaltern.
