auch wenn es ja en ein Widerspruch in sich ist: Was waren die "undergroundigsten" und subersivsten Tracks/Lieder, die je in Top 10 Charts waren?
Aber halt nicht irgendwelche Gaga-Schenkelklopfer wie Ententanz etc

Ist halt die Frage wo man die Grenze zum Underground zieht. Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez ist jetzt zwar kein Unbekannter, aber in meinen Augen auch kein klassischer Chart-Produzent.

Mit Grausen kann ich mich noch an 1983 erinneren, als der Sunshine Reggae wochenlang auf Platz eins war. Die Single hat sich aber auch zu einem großen Teil wegen der B-Seite so gut verkauft. White Horse war damals international ein riesiger Clubhit. Und dabei gehts in dem Track (sehr wahrscheinlich) auch noch um Kokain.

Zumindest in den UK Charts (Albumcharts und ein paar Songs glaub auch in den Singlecharts) zwischenzeitlich ziemlich weit vorne und imo bemerkenswert krass finde ich die Bands "Architects" und "Sleep Token".
Nachfolgend je ein Video. Die liefern schon beide vollkommen popgerechte Momente aber eben auch derb krasses Zeug, z.T. innerhalb eines Songs.

Hat natürlich einen medialen Megaboost durch die Levis Werbung erhalten, aber hey - Erfolg ist Erfolg.

Wenn man bedenkt, wie minimalistisch und simpel der Track arrangiert ist, ist es schon krass, wie erfolgreich das in den Pop Charts war.

In einem Interwiew sagte er damals, dass er nur knappe 2 Stunden mit ner TR-606 und nem Korg MS-20 dafür gebraucht hat.

und "sowas" lief im Fernsehen damals

das war nicht der erste hit von Paul Hardcastle (und nicht mehr auf seinem eigenen label veröffentlicht), aber der song wurde durchaus kontrovers aufgenommen. ich war team pro.

aus demselben jahr und nicht ganz so erfolgreich, aber immerhin nr. 1 in BRD und SWE und mit top 5-platzierungen in Rest-Europa, war der song "Jeanny" von Falco.

ein Wikipedia-auszug:
Verschiedene Fraueninitiativen riefen zum Boykott des Liedes auf. Der Norddeutsche Rundfunk, der Sender Freies Berlin sowie der Bayerische Rundfunk nahmen das Lied „aus ethischen Gründen“ aus dem Programm; andere Sender spielten "Jeanny" nur noch in Hitparaden. Auch im DDR-Rundfunk wurde das Lied nicht mehr gesendet.

Der damalige ZDF-Nachrichtensprecher Dieter Kronzucker, dessen beide Töchter einige Jahre zuvor Opfer einer Entführung geworden waren, äußerte sich in der Ausgabe des heute-journals vom 14. Januar 1986 empört über den großen Erfolg des Titels. Daraufhin schlossen sich weitere Radiostationen dem Boykott an. In Hessen wurde der Song mit einem Warnkommentar gespielt. Bei der Musiksendung Formel Eins wurde er, solange er Platz eins der Charts belegte, jede Woche zumindest ausschnittsweise gezeigt.
Thomas Gottschalk nannte Falco in einem Zeitungskommentar ein „Wiener Würstchen“, das „Schwachsinn“ produziere:

„Falcos Fieselton und die Latrinenansichten des Videos sind einfach zuviel verlangt.“

Falco sagte dazu in der Sendung Heut’ abend mit Joachim Fuchsberger:

„Ich kann doch einem ehemaligen Lehrer nicht übelnehmen, wenn er ein Wiener Würstchen nicht von einer Bockwurst unterscheiden kann.“

Super Track. Ich muss darüber schmunzeln, dass der ausgerechnet in Frankreich nicht nach ganz oben gekommen ist.
Das sind aber mehr Sounds drin. Die meisten Drum Sounds klingen für mich nicht nach 606.

No Good (Start the Dance) war in zig Ländern in den Top 10...1994... Dieser Track war definitiv nicht der damalig übliche Stil, den man in den Charts so gefunden hat.



Auch das Album Music for Jilted Generation war sehr erfolgreich...

Es gab damals schon einige Chart Hits, die den typischen "Kommerz Konventionen" entgegengesetzt waren...

Aber durch diesen Erfolg wurden diese Tracks auch sozusagen ein "Teil des Systems"
