ORCHID | chord generating synthesizer

geht doch ;-)

Gibt inzwischen ne (kostenlose) Patreon-Seite.
This Wednesday, 4th December from 2pm PST / 5pm EST Tom, Telepathic Technical Director and co-founder, is going to be answering your questions. The AMA will be text-based, and he’ll be answering as much as he can, for as long as he can.

Re. US release
Pre-order will be available on the 18th of December, with the Orchids shipping late-Jan!

Weiterhin noch re. global release:
This is because we can only get certification for the US right now. We're going through the motions to make sure we can get Orchid into other markets as soon as possible but I can say that it'll be in the first half of 2025.
Our wider release will be in the first half of 2025!

Bluetooth-MIDI support?
Unfortunately there's no Bluetooth planned at this time, however we do offer USB MIDI and 5 pin DIN MIDI outputs

pitch-bend? velocity? aftertouch?
Velocity 100%, pitch-bend and aftertouch... good ideas to add to future firmware updates. I'll add them to the list of potential features

If first users have the opportunity to "shape and refine" the Orchid, does this mean there will be future firmware updates to the device to access the new features?
Yes indeed! The first 1000 units will come with all the fully functional features we think is best, but then we want to hear from YOU and release versions based on what you'd like to see.

Is there any way to save / recall sequences?
There's a Loop mode that lets you record sequences real time, play them back, and even overdub. There's also a pattern sequencer as part of the performance features (think of it as an arpeggiator with custom patterns!).

Audio is output through a 3.5mm headphone jack located on the back of the unit
Just wondering what was the thought process behind not having a line output and/or headphone output?
We included a headphone output! We went with headphone over line because it offers the flexibility to use Orchid on the move, while still being functional in a studio setting with some tweaks. Opting for just a line output would have limited portability for those relying on headphones when creating away from a studio.

Bert
