Ausblick auf das neue OS der Pyramide, welches in ca. 2 Wochen erscheinen soll:
PyraOs 0.86 new features
LIVE MODE
1) Looper
A new way to capture your performance, in the style of looper pedals! A rec (from the start) will start a looper recording, that means that the track length will grow with the track player position. Once you press again rec to stop the recording, the new track length is fixed. So you can freely perform without worrying about the track length.
To activate the looper feature, enter SETTINGS>MISC>LIVE LOOPER and select the looper time quantization (beat = the track length is set to the nearest beat, 1bar = the track length is set to the nearest bar, ...)
To activate a looper recording, you have to stop Pyramid, press REC, and press PLAY.
2) Hard record
Press 2ND+PLAY to activate a hard recording. This enable you to erase all notes on the player position, like an "overdub OFF" recording.
3) Player tracking
Now, the viewed page in LIVE mode always follows the player position.
4) Metronome
Now, you have to press 2ND+LIVE to enable or disable the metronome. This feature is improved, metronome notes are shorter.
5) Played notes on keyboard pads
The processed & sent notes are displayed on the 13 keyboard pads, depending on the selected octave, with low luminosity. This feature doesn't highlight the notes you played, but the track notes sent (very fun and useful if you use the arpeggiator & chord smartpads for example).
6) Quick copy/paste/delete track
2ND+COPY to copy the selected track
2ND+PASTE to paste the copied track on the selected track (paste only notes + CC automations + FX + FX automations, but do not copy track parameters like track length)
2ND+DELETE to delete all notes + CC automations + FX automations of the current track.
STEP MODE
7) New piano roll!
With 13 notes displayed instead of 8 and beautiful black & white keyboard
8) Step by step "note learn" & “chord learn” with an external keyboard
Each time a note is received on midi input, the selected note in stepmode NOTE is set with this note (for example C3#). You can also perform a chord with your external keyboard, it will set a chord (for example C2+2) instead of a note. So you can fill your step-by-step sequence with custom chords.
Note A: you no longer have to press the menu encoder to learn a note from an external keyboard.
Note B: you can also use the "note learn" & “chord learn” with the integrated keyboard, with the menu encoder pressed.
Note C: you can disable the external keyboard "note learn" & “chord learn” feature with SETTINGS>MISC>STEP LEARN
9) Player tracking
The viewed page in STEP mode can follow the player position if you press 2ND+DISP
10) Go to the nearest note
A long press on a step (MONO EDITION enable) auto-select the nearest note of the step.
For example if a step contains a C2# and a E2 note, and if the selected note of the piano roll is C4, a long press will select the note E3. Very handy to quickly view or edit a note in a step.
11) CC message stepmode is now the last stepmode
Now it's easiest to enter stepmode CC messages
12) Prelisten a CC message
In the stepmode CC message, press the menu encoder to listen the dotted line value.
13) FX and CC logos when you scroll DISP view
Each time you select a new CC message or a new FX parameter in the both stepmodes, a logo popup will appear, for a better navigation.
TRACK MODE
14) Instant mute/unmute
Select if tracks mute/unmute are in sync with SEQ PERFORM (inst, beat, 1bar, 2bar, ...) or always instant with SETTINGS>MISC>TRACKS MUTE
SEQ MODE
15) Sequence shorter that 1 bar
You can now set a sequence in the chain to be shorter than 1 bar (e.g. 1/4 bar = 1 beat, 2/4 bar = 2 beat, ...).
This option depends on the "general time signature" of the project (SETTINGS>MISC>DEFAULT TS L).
16) 32 Sequences
Now you can create up to 32 sequences, instead of 16. In SEQ mode (or when SEQ is long pressed), press < or > to change the bank of sequences (1...16 or 17...32).
GENERAL
17) New FX: SCALE
This effect quantizes all note pitches to a defined scale in real time, to refine your melody.
ENABLE (ON/OFF): activate/disable the scale engine.
SCALE (MAJOR...LOCRIAN): select the scale
KEY (C...B): select the scale root note
STICK (UP/DOWN): if a non-scaled note is exactly between two scaled notes, select if the effect have to choose the down note or the up note
TRANSP (-12...0...+12): transpose all scaled notes
18) New FX: DELAY
DISABLED FOR THE MOMENT, WILL BE ADDED ON THE FINAL 0.86 VERSION
19) New FX: EQUALIZER
This effect increases of decreases notes velocity, according to the note pitch. The EQ slope is linear. You can, for example, increase the velocity of all lowest and highest notes, increase only medium notes, decrease the velocity of highest notes, ...
ENABLE (ON/OFF): activate/disable the equalizer engine.
BASENOTE (C-1#...F9#): select the "mid gain note" = the central note pitch of the equalizer
LOW GAIN (0%...200%): select the gain of the lowest note (C-1#)
MID GAIN (0%...200%): select the gain of the base note
HIGH GAIN (0%...200%): select the gain of the highest note (F9#)
20) New FX: NOTE TO CC
This effect converts a note parameter value (note pitch or note velocity) to a selected CC message (or to the midi "pitch bend", "aftertouch" or " program change"). For example, you can change a synth parameter (like the filter) according to the velocity of a note. It's also very handy to fully control the Korg Volca Sample parameters (pitch, velocity, ...) with a keyboard.
ENABLE (ON/OFF): activate/disable the note to CC engine.
PARAM (NOTE ON/VELOCITY/NOTE ON OFF): select the note parameter value to convert (pitch of the note ON, velocity of the note, pitch of the note ON and note OFF)
TO CC (CC0...PROGRAM CHANGE): select the midi CC message to be created
PLAY NOTE (ON...OFF): If OFF, the inputed note will be filtered. If ON, the inputed note will be played.
21) New FX: BPM
This effect enable you to create global tempo automations! Very useful to create BPM changes between two tracks during your live set, automate small BPM variations, create "bouncing ball" effects in sync, ...
ENABLE (ON/OFF): activate/disable the BPM automation.
BPM (10...250): the new global BPM (substitutes the tap BPM).
22) New FX: CHANCE
This effect adds a probability to play a note or not. It's a great way to add variations to drums or melodies.
ENABLE (ON/OFF): activate/disable the chance engine.
CHANCE (0%...100%): if "0%", the note will be never played. If "50%", the note has a fifty-fifty chance to be played. If "99%", the note will be almost always played.
SYNC (OFF...1/16): Add a synced probability ("sync chance" parameter). If sync = "1/4", all beat notes will have a different chance to be played. If sync = "1/16", all sixteenth notes will have a different chance to be played.
SYNC CHANCE (0%...100%): The probability of a synced note to be played.
APPLY (PER PPQN...PER NOTE): If "PER PPQN" selected, the probability affects a group of notes contained in the same PPQN (if a chord is played, all notes of the chord will be played or not). If "PER NOTE" selected, the probability affects each notes (if a chord is played, only some notes of the chord will be played).
23) Assign a CC to GLOBAL
When assigning an encoder to a CC message, a new option appears: GLOBAL. That means that the CC messages will be sent on the channel of the selected track, instead of being sent on always the same channel.
24) Assign touchpad to smartpads
When assigning the touchpad, a new option appears: SMARTPADS. Now you can play the touchpad X axis to send chords (if the LIVE smartpads = CHORD) or scaled notes (if the LIVE smartpads = SCALE). You can also select the smartpads octave range (1, 2, 3 or 4 octaves) and the parameter controlled on the Y axis (note velocity, aftertouch, pitch bend or modulation wheel).
You can play smartpads with the touchpad in every mode, and record your performance. Notes are always sent on the current track, so you can use some midi effects if you want.
25) Quick EFFECT MANAGER selection
In the EFFECT MANAGER windows:
- Press encoder 1 to enter the effect in slot 1. Press 2ND + encoder 1 to enable/disable the effect in slot 1.
- Press encoder 2 to enter the effect in slot 2. Press 2ND + encoder 2 to enable/disable the effect in slot 2.
- Press encoder 3 to enter the effect in slot 3. Press 2ND + encoder 3 to enable/disable the effect in slot 3.
- Press encoder 4 to enter the effect in slot 4. Press 2ND + encoder 4 to enable/disable the effect in slot 4.
26) BPM elastic shift
Hold 2ND+BPM and slide the touchpad X axis to temporarily shift the tempo up or down. Very handy to manually syncing Pyramid with an external sound source (for example a turntable).
27) BPM double/divide
Hold BPM and press < or > to double or divide the BPM in a flash.
28) Delete projects
In the LOAD project list, press 2ND+DELETE to remove a project definitively from the SD card (note: the backup project is not removed).
29) Default track settings applied on empty tracks
When you change track setting in SETTINGS>MISC (DEFAULT TRACK, DEFAULT ZOOM, DEFAULT LENGTH, DEFAULT TS, DEFAULT PERFORM), new track settings are applied directly on empty tracks. You don't have to restart Pyramid anymore.
30) Do not send midi clock when Pyramid is paused or stopped
New setting (SETTINGS>MIDI OUT>CLOCK STOP) to not output the midi clock message when the player is stopped or paused.
31) Last but not least
