As an electronic producer, DJ, and performer, Liliane Chlela is revered for the way she shatters the boundaries of auditory landscapes. Born and raised in Beirut and currently based in Montréal, she came up as a key member of Lebanon’s thriving experimental and electronic scenes and has since gained international acclaim for her distinctive sonic explorations.
As Beirut’s DIY scene hit a creative peak in the early 2010s, she worked closely with other artists on a range of collaborations and projects. Armed with synths, samplers, pedals, and a guitar, she whipped up live takes on underground dance music in the improvisational trio The DnB Project, delved into heady and freeform post-rock with Hezbel Taleta, conjured glitchy ambient creations alongside Jawad Nawfal (Munma) as part of the duo Infinite Moment Of Composure, and melted hearts in the synthpop project The Butcher’s Bride alongside Mashrou’ Leila singer Hamed Sinno.
