Sync

sync (or synch) stands for Oscillator synchronisation.

mainly for generating overtones in subtractive synthesis. 2 Oscillators are needed, one of them restarts the second oscillator when it "played" a full cycle waveform (one period of a wave). the other oscillator will start it's waveform (so the truth is - it is no synchronisation but restart). thats why the result oscillator will often double the frequency and add more overtones.

Der klassische „Sync-Sound“ ist, wenn der synchronisierte Oszillator in seiner Tonhöhe moduliert wird. man kann nicht nur hart synchronisieren, es gibt auch die möglichkeit des Softsync.
