Noise isn't "Noise"

In Synthesizers Noise is often used for pink or white Noise, which is a constant level of (all) random frequencies in the full spectrum. the "colour" comes from the slope of filtering. white noise is almost unfiltered but the "darker" the colour gets the more the LPF is applied (higher slope) like pink noise is filtered at 3 dB / Octave. Red Noise is filtered even more, same as brown noise (filtered even more). In german we got 2 Words for just pure "Noise" and the Noise of white, pink etc. - like the old analog TV or radio, thats randomly and coincident exitance of all frequencies at a time.

Noise bedeutet eigentlich nur Krach oder Geräusch, somit is im englischen Sprachraum Noise und Rauschen nicht trennbar auszudrücken, wohl aber wenn man farbiges Rauschen benennt, wie etwa rosa und weiß etc. Die andersfarbigen Rauschtöne sind im Volksmund nicht so bekannt, es gibt sie aber, sie sind einfach nur unterschiedlich stark gefiltert.
