Neue Beta für den Quantum, nun mit Support für bis zu 16 Stimmen:
Hi,
here comes Quantum & Iridium 3.0 beta 14.
It delivers the first version of the main 3.0 feature: We have increased the polyphony of Quantum to up to 16 voices by adding 8 additional digital-only voices.
In Layer->Voices there is a new „Voice Allocation“ setting. You can choose from these options:
"16 Voices: Analog Preferred“ -> use first 8 voices with analog filters only while polyphony stays below 9, then add voices with digital filters.
"16 Voices: Round Robin“ -> cycle through 8 analog voices and 8 digital voices
"16 Voices: Alternating“ -> alternate between analog and digital voices
"8 Voices: Analog Only“ -> classic 8 voice analog mode
"16 Voices: Digital Only“ -> 16 digital only voices much like Iridium
For now, this is a global user setting, not a patch parameter. This might be later changed to a parameter stored with patches as esp. the mixed modes
give plenty of interesting sound design options by combining analog with digital voices.
In modes including analog filters you can still switch in the filter screen to „digital“ as much as you could do it already.
We believe this feature will be transforming for Quantum users as we have now joined fully the platform for Quantum & Iridium. Updates will be
simultaneous for the whole product family of Quantum & Iridiums. It’s a platform which we believe also will grow as the family will do.
As with Iridium, voice cancellation will jump in when synthesis load becomes too high. It’s a bit more conservative for now, so you won’t always get 16 voices
depending on the patch. We are working here on further optimizations to get as much polyphony as possible.
But there’s more in beta 14, also of course for Iridium users. Please check the list now new features and bug fixes below.

For Iridium Keyboard please choose “irtidium-keyboard.update-bin”, for Iridium Desktop “iridium.update.bin” and for Quantum “quantum.update.bin”.
Put the respective file on an USB drive, goto Global->System->Info, tap on “Update”, select the “USB” drive and your file.
Feel free to write me back about your general impression and experiences of the beta, and esp. about the voice allocation modes.
