ABOUT this is a very new design. it seems to try to recombine the 2 lines of synths: evolver series with 4 oscillators and the Mopho/Prophet-series with 2 OSCs but the 2 digital OSCs where capable of FM and Ringmodulation, so the Evolvers are more interesting but the Prophet 08 was the one with more voices (Evolvers: 4 voices max) - now the P12 has 4 digital OSCs and 12 voices
also cool - this 4 digital osc'ed synth has FM and AM (thats ringmod as well) and distortion kind of stuff - which follows the music trend of personalising the sound - add more noise / artefacts!

ABOUT Es gab bis 2012 zwei Linien von DSI - die einfachen Analogen mit 2 Oszillatoren (Mopho, Tetra, Prophet 08) und die komplexeren (Evolver Serie) mit 2 analogen und 2 digitalen Oszillatoren. Letztere waren es aber, die Ringmodulation und FM ermöglichten. Die Evolver-Serie hatte jedoch immer wenige Stimmen (4 max) oder monophon. Der P12 erweitert dies deutlich durch die 4 digitalen OSCs.
Der P12 bringt diese Funktionen zurück. Er ist quasi der Versuch die Konzepte zu fusionieren mit 4 digitalen Oszillatoren und dennoch 12 Stimmen die beiden Konzepte.
Besonders ist auch, dass Verzerrungsabteilungen und 4 Delays integriert sind.
Dave selbst sagt, es sei sein bester Synthesizer, den er je gebaut hat. Er hat 2 Ribbon Controller an Bord.

SOUND movement! evolving sounds, even very new warp-kind of delay modulations are possible as well as traditional nice prophet-pads, but movement and organic sounds are the evolvers friend. very soft to very hard/distorted
SOUND sehr viel bewegung und neuartiges durch die modulierbaren delays geht der klangbereich von glitch/warp sound bis klassischen prophet-flächen, aber bewegtes ist seine stärke! Sehr weich bis knallhart und verzerrt.
