ok, here is a new macbook (still do not consider one for music.. there is almost still no software for intel..) 2.16 GHz Dualcore 1680-by-1050-pixel display DL 8x Superdrive , 3xUSB 2.0 it has / Und es hat Firewire 400 & 800 Smile $ 2.799,- so apple seems not to drop 800 FW ports.. 2.16 may not be ultrafast.. but ok.. as soon as there is reaktor and other soft „universal“ out.. some day..
ok, it well known now – intel macs will be running multiple OS on, so this is a real alternative to a standard pc – maybe the pc soft will sooner work on intel macs than os x apps, where most of the audio apps are still not ported to intel code (or the companies are working on it..) let’s check what os will run on the intel macs more often..?.. ja, ihr wissts sicher: die intel-macs laufen dämnächst auch mit multi OSes, also mit win xp, linux oder solaris..…

here’s a teratec keyboard with 8 controllers and 5 octaves that is able to use the komplexer (a micro Q but without audio in but sound compatible) or some sort of sampler player and run it on the internal DSPs. of course it has usb2 also. its teratec but they say it is also available for mac.. komplexer as software ist still pc only atm. the original post: Matrixsynth: Terratec Area 61 Expandable Keyboard System
