To all, who try to make MIDI and other Editors on and in Java like JSynthLib or the Electribe Organizer may be happier now to hear, that apples announcement to drop development of their Java SDK is given back to the hands of the original company, who will continue to keep it up and fresh on OS X – as they did and do for Windows, Linux etc.. Apple will help them (documentation etc). Hope the MIDI Libs will work flawlessly in the future (with Core MIDI/Audio). non functional editors…

Der Forum Song: Arrested Expansion Was haltet ihr von der Idee gemeinsam einen Song zu arrangieren und produzieren ? Zu diesem Zwecke habe ich einen Entwurf mit GarageBand gemacht, alle Spuren stammen vom ACE Synthesizer plugin. Wäre es nicht spannend zu hören, wenn bestimmte Spezialisten hier im Forum einzelne Stems mit ‚echten Synths‘ ersetzen? Bei der ersten gestretchten Melodie höre ich einen Blade Runner CS-80 Bei der Hauptmelodie würde ich selbst gerne einen SH-5 Flötensound einspielen. Der Sequence Part ist so gesetzt, das er mit einem Hardware-Sequencer problemlos transponiert werden…

Apple. released 2 new Macbook Air, both are not „small“ but thin, the smaller one is 11.6″, and uses SSD/Flash starting at 64GB, the bigger one is still 13,3″, both only got USB. so these are more for bloggers, not for musicians. OS X 10.7 Lion will integrate iOS and an App Store for Mac Applications that use the touch-control. auto update but assumably with some restrictions not usual for standard computers.
