Kebu & Ulrich Schnauss l Bochum
Eindrucksvolle Kulisse – das Planetarium in Bochum – Anlass ist eigentlich Schallwelle, die Preise der Szene rund um Musiker wie Tangerine Dream und J.M.Jarre, die dort auch heute noch Preise bekommen. Interessant sind auch die Konzerte von Kebu, der in einem klassischen analoge Set Hand und Sequencer anlegt, dabei sind hier eher Maschinen zu finden, die „Du und Ich“ mal hatten oder kennen, keine Überkultmaschinen – sprich Polysix / Poly 61, Micropreset, JX8P und mehrere Alpha Junos aber auch ein Andromeda
und Ulrich Schnauss muss mit dem Rechner arbeiten, etwas Klavier spielen, da granulare Effekte mit klassischen Analogen nicht möglich wären und der Aufwand bemerkenswert ist, denn all die oben genannten Instrumente mussten aus Finnland angeschleppt werden. Gerade diese beiden zeigen aber, dass es interessante Entwicklungen gibt in der ältesten der klassischen populären Musik (nicht in der Neuen Musik, die gab es weit vorher schon). Danke für diese Einblick und die Optik des Planetariums und dessen Möglichkeiten.

Schallwelle @ Planetarum Bochum 2017. It’s the home of fans of Jarre and Tangerine Dream (not just them, but) – so it is very classic, they voted, they got answers – they still love’em. those concerts in such a locations make visuals take another part compared to „normal“ locations – impressive when those projections are running.

Kebu – playing his own style which is sort of very 80s melodic kind of style reminding of a lot incl. a cover of Moroder and Streethawk (By J.Schmoelling and Tangerine Dream, who was at the event as well). And it’s all by hand plus help of a sequencer – on classic synths and Alesis AndromedaA6 – and not „top cult ones“ like Roland JX8P, Juno60, 2x AlphaJunos, Korg Poly61 & Polysix, Micropreset, M500, MonoPoly also: Dave Smith Tetr4, Tetra + MPC 2500 + Logan String/Organ Machine, Vermona Drums DRM1Mk2/3
saw Jomox Airbase01 & FX in a 19″ Rack plus some more stuff (no images, sorry)..
Ulrich Schnauss did something that just surprised me in the way of granular sounds that where mostly played melodically in a combination with cities and machines which fit totally well.
