Bitwig Studio TR-sequencing – controlled by NI Maschine (as a controller!) / Bitwig Release 26.3.2014

Bitwig Studio is in here, it may look like a normal Maschine, but is is really just Bitwig in use here, looks very interesting to us grooveboxers, right? So there’s something in the making that may be able to be controlled by „any“ controller.. something I put on my wishlist years ago.. -> UPDATE:  26.3.2014 is the time when Bigwig will be released and the price be announced. also will be shown at NAMM 2014 – and the Musikmesse is also right there (12-15.3.)  UPDATE 2: CDM says it’ll be 299€…

Making Beats with Ableton Live’s upcoming Push Controller – focus: Step Sequencing

it’s a better improved info about Push – the Ableton Live 9 Controller, especially the step sequencer which is 32 steps but can be longer . 1:13 is the index to start without „intro blah“ ;) the most important and critical thing is the way how to input dynamic drums and melodies – most of those solutions just work with with accent which isn’t n.off for todays music, so watch this to have the picture of what may come – looks good. and always compare with NI Maschine

FM Synth added to Propellerheads Reason PX7

finally they did something wonderful for all FM Synth lovers like Yamahas DX7 or Software Clones from NI (FM8) or Linplug Octopus (I never owned it, but can play samples additional to the NI one). well, propellerheads version is quite close to work like the original – means – there is one LFO, one Pitch Envelope and all the 6OP goodness you expect. The Algorithm seems to be very straight from Yamaha’s design, not the matrix-one of the other ones or the MOD7 solution in Kronos/Oasys by Korg. so –…

Steinberg Cubasis iPad DAW

this is not the first DAW, since beside Auria there are others, but this one might be interesting to all Cubase / Steinberg users – (there has been a recent update to Cubase 7) and on the iPad this one looks tempting.. for an app it is expensive as hell (45€), so is Auria, but note, if you want to import something to Cubase you need to be very very up to date on your Mac or PC.. Key features• Unlimited audio and MIDI tracks (depends on the device used)• Over…

Reason + Radical Keys

Steinberg Cubase 7 & Nuendo 6 + Nuage Controller

new Cubase 7 announced as well as Nuendo 6 by  Steinberg.net new: a very Logic-style Mixer – so there goes another Logic advantage, it’s made for peak metering, controlling plugins and lots of monitoring stuff in here – so nothing new for Logic users, but they’re coming closer on every version update. means: you got busses, aux, EQ end all those things – incl voxengo EQ built in as well as surround routing – and (thats superior to Logic) a kind of custom controller layout for external hardware – strange…

the Invincible: Push Controller – Ableton going the Maschine way. with dynamic pads (pressure & velocity) in Live 9

Ableton says Push! – I want to see you on the floor. it’s very much like a new Launchpad and step sequencer with pressure sensitive  and velocity pads and display, so .. a „better“ maschine? SO GREAT THEY ARE DOING STEP SEQUENCING IN HERE!! Sorry, but this looks more sexy to me than most of current grooveboxy approaches to computers, so – interesting to get my hands on one of these – not so cheap – but interesting concepts of CHOOSING and PLAYING and yet SEQUENCING it – don’t know how…
